Below is the text from a call from Assistant Superintendent Bob Kuhn sent Sunday, April 19, 2015. If you did not receive this call please make sure that your phone number is correct at your school.
We invite all community members to join FUSD and the Flagstaff Police Department Tuesday, April 21st at 6 pm at Flagstaff High School for a meeting regarding the recent phone calls to FUSD elementary schools causing schools to be placed on lockdown.
Good Evening this is Bob Kuhn, Assistant Superintendent of the Flagstaff Unified School District.
This message pertains to the robotic calls received by FUSD elementary schools last week. I want to reassure FUSD families that we have taken multiple safety precautions in case future calls are received. If at any time a school receives one of these calls the school will immediately prepare for lockdown procedures. Schools practice these types of drills multiple times throughout the year. If a school is in a lockdown situation our entrance doors will be locked and phone calls will not be answered. Campuses are locked throughout the day and all visitors are required to enter through our front office. If one school goes on a lockdown, other schools do not follow suit, unless there is a perceived threat. FUSD staff understands the depth of your concern and we are here if you would like to ask us questions. Safety is always a priority.
For further information FUSD will be hosting a public forum along with Flagstaff Police Department at FHS beginning at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 21st
