Nurse’s Office
The nurse’s schedule is posted on the door of the nursing office. Only first aid is given at school. In case of emergency, the parents/guardians will be contacted. Any medications the students must take under doctor’s direction during school hours must be registered with the school nurse.

Students are not allowed to carry any medication at school. When it is necessary for a student to take medication at school, prescription or over the counter, the medication must be brought to the nurse in the original container or prescription bottle. The parent or guardian must provide written permission for medication to be given at school.
Illness During the School Day
If a student becomes ill during the day, he/she must get a pass from the teacher to go to the nursing office. If the condition warrants, the parents/guardians will be contacted to take the student home. A prolonged stay in the bathroom because of illness is considered truancy. A student must go to the nursing office if ill.
Students are required to check-out of school in the Attendance Office prior to leaving school. If a student leaves school for any reason without school or parental permission, the absence will be considered truancy.
Immunizations
The school will follow the state law in regard to the health regulations related to immunization and school attendance.
Injuries
If a student is injured during a supervised activity, he/she should immediately report the injury to the supervising teacher.
School Insurance
School insurance is available through a private vendor to all students in the Flagstaff Unified School District at student expense. The district does not carry student accident or medical insurance. Check with the school office for information.
