Pre-Registration

Parents are strongly encouraged to pre-register their children for kindergarten.  This helps us plan class sizes, staffing requirements, and materials. 

Registration for the upcoming school year takes place in March or April.

Kindergarten Requirements:  All children who turn five years of age on or before August 31 of the current school year are eligible to enter kindergarten. Parents with children turning five during the month of September may request possible early entrance.  Click on Age Requirement for more information. Please bring a birth certificate with you when you register your child for school.  The following items are acceptable substitutions until an official birth certificate can be obtained:
        ~census certificate for Native Americans
        ~reliable medical, civil or religious records
        ~letter from a duly authorized agency having custody (D.E.S. or court appointed guardian)

Immunization and Health Information:  In accordance with the state law, before attending school, all children must have the following immunizations:
    ~Polio Series
        ~DP7 Series (diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus)
            ~MMR 1 and 2 (measles, mumps and rubella)
                ~Hepatitis B Series

Immunization records must be submitted prior to attending school. State law permits students who have not been immunized to attend school if specific circumstances exist and documentation explaining the exemption is made part of the student’s health record. In the event of an outbreak of a disease against which a child has not been immunized, state law demands that unvaccinated students be excluded from school and remain excluded for a period of two (2) weeks following the last occurrence of the disease.

A physical examination is recommended; however, it is not required for enrollment.
