Congratulations for considering tutoring to help your child succeed in school. The Family Resource Center recommends these no-cost options to assist your child with schoolwork:

• Check with your child's teacher/s at their school to find out what assistance is available before/during/after school. This may include time for them to meet with their teacher for extra help or tutoring programs they have in place at the school site.
  
  
• If your elementary school has a FACTS program, homework help is available during FACTS at Title I schools for no cost. Students may only participate in homework help and not regular FACTS activities unless they are paying for FACTS services.
  
  
• Call or stop by the Family Resource Center to sign your child up for FREE tutoring. Tutoring is held Monday – Thursday 3:30 – 6:30 p.m. A tutoring session may last up to 1 hour depending on the amount of homework. Students in grades K-6 th must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or older responsible sibling/caregiver. Students in 7 th – 12 th grades may be dropped off. Tutoring is done in small groups by certified FUSD teachers. Efforts are made to group students according to age and subject. Priority is given to students working to meet grade/class level requirements. Please call the center to register your child for tutoring. All students should come prepared with books, assignments and special materials. Basic supplies are available for student use at the Family Resource Center .
  
  
• Various community agencies offer homework assistance. Check with us about resources close to where you live.
  
  
• On-line resources may help you to help your child with their homework.
  
  
• Please supervise your child when on-line.
  
  
• Finally, private tutoring is available at a cost by local companies and private individuals. The FUSD Family Resource Center does not endorse any tutoring resource over another. Families are responsible for checking references and all arrangements. We have gathered this information in response to requests from families. Contact the center for more information.
