Knoles Third Grade Curriculum

This year, your child will learn to read, write, add, subtract and problem solve as aligned to the
Arizona State Standards.
Our district is also beginning to implement Curriculum Mapping.... changes to this page will be forthcoming.

Units of Study

Our third graders will enjoy a variety of units that are usually completely integrated with all subjects.

Some of these units are:

Growth of Native Plants and Botany

Local Geology

Science through Bubbles

American Heroes and Biographies

Flagstaff History and Communities
Including a walking downtown tour of historical Flagstaff and a visit to the Riordan Mansion

Many of these units also use the Foss or Gems science kits. We have finished our biography and geology studies. Currently we are working on Flagstaff history. This unit will culminate .
