Building on the strengths of Marshall School to increase student achievement. Marshall School has received a number of grants that have enabled the school to provide high quality Arts and Science programs. All of our kindergarten, first, and second graders participate in two Suzuki violin lessons per week. All third graders participate in creative movement and dance on a weekly basis. The school has a strong artist-in-residence program in various disciplines in fourth, fifth and sixth grades. Marshall utilizes the expertise of the staff and community members that work with students integrating Science and the Arts. A number of indicators of success exist since the inception of the Magnet School. Standardized test scores continue to improve. The enrollment at Marshall continues to grow with Magnet Programs cited as the compelling reason families wish to become part of the school community. The Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce selected Marshall School as the School of the Year. Marshall has been recognized with two major awards in Arts Education: First place Arizona Schools of Excellence Arts Award and Excellence in Arts from the State Department of Education.
