| Plant Growth & Development Lead your students in an exploration of a plant's life cycle, using the hands-on activities in this kit. Students work with Wisconsin Fast Plants, which go from seed to seed in about 40 days, to investigate plant structure, chart plant growth, examine the bee/flower relationship, and record seed yield. By the end of the unit, students have a complete picture of germination, growth and development, pollination, and seed production. |

| Earth Materials The activities in this module encourage students to research and identify the characteristic of rocks and minerals. Students get practice with the tools and methods geologist use to determine the minerals inside rocks, and they learn techniques for identifying several specific rocks and minerals, including calcite, quartz, and granite. |
| Measurement This module awakens students to the importance of measurment--of determining how far, how long, how much, and how many. Using such tools as a meter tape and a balance, students also learn about the metric system. |
| Physics of Sound Invite students to discriminate between sounds generated by dropped objects, how sounds can be make louder or softer and higher and lower, how sounds travel through a variety of materials, and how sounds get from a source to a receiver. Students use their knowledge of the physics of sound to solve simple-sound challenges. This kit also contains resources to teach standards on the properties of light. |
