FOSS Kits
Landforms
Students use stream tables to gain experience with models, maps, and the concepts of erosion and deposition. Students are introduced to fundamental concepts in earth science.

Magnetism & Electricity
Each investigation is designed to introduce or reinforce concepts in physical science. The investigations provide opportunities for students to explore the natural and human-made worlds by observing and manipulating materials in focused settings using simple tools.

One kit will be housed at each school all year. Water
Without water, life on earth would end. in this module, students perform activities and view videos that look into this all-important substance. Students observe water as a liquid and a solid, investigate the phenomena of evaporation and condensation, and more.
Structures of Life
As they grow seeds in a hydroponic garden and observe the structures and behaviors of crayfish, student start to learn important ideas from this module: that plants and animals and living organisms; that they have observable structures and behaviors; that they have predictable life cycles; and that they reproduce their own kind.

Weather Instruments
Students measure weather conditions using kit tools and devices of their own making. Investigations include temperature, air pressure, wind, humidity, clouds and weather predictions.

   
  Each school will also receive an Exploring Arizona kit to be used by fourth grade teachers and housed all year.
