Models and Designs
Engage students in design and construction with four investigations that provide experiences with the concept of a scientific model. The atmosphere generated by this module is one of open discussion, free exchange of ideas, and the development of ideas into products.
Variables
Students use controlled experimentation to discover relationships that help them see cause and effect. Students will fling, float, and flip objects as they discover relationships in each investigation.
Environments
Barley, bugs, beetles, and brine shrimp-these are just a few of the living organisms that students work with in this module. Investigations introduce basic concepts of environmental biology.

Solar Energy
Students discover the concept of energy transfer from a source (Sun) to a receiver (solar collector). They then test the variables that affect energy retention and convert solar energy to electrical energy.
