Sechrist Newsletter
Dear Parents and Students,
I have been at Sechrist for almost two months now! I want to
thank every family, parent, and student for making me feel welcome. Sechrist is
indeed an extraordinary place and a wonderful educational setting. I feel
really special that I am now part of this wonderful family.
Welcome to colder temperatures and the fall season! Please
remember that jackets are soon going to become a necessity in the very near
future. Due to the number of children here at Sechrist please place names and
phone numbers inside jackets. This will allow us to return lost jackets to
their owners.
The carnival was a huge success, and I had the pleasure of
not only getting dunked multiple times, but being part of such a huge community
and family event. I would like to thank the many parents who volunteered
numerous hours to insure the success of the event.
We have several important events and issues I would like to
bring to your attention:
- A Webmaster
for the PTO page is needed to keep the page current. The technology
understanding that is needed is basic. If you are interested please call
the school office.
- With
respect to the limited instructional time that teachers have, we are
requesting that interruptions are kept to a minimum. We are asking that
you schedule an appointment with your childÕs teacher if you need to speak
with them during the school day. Of course, if necessary if there is an
emergency you are welcome at anytime. Thanks.
- The
parking situation is a lot better now! Please pick up students behind the
pick up sign for safety. The yellow loading zone is for picking up
students only, and we are asking that you do not get out of your car or
leave your car unattended. Please do not pick up your students directly in
front of the front doors. If you are utilizing the museum area please be
considerate and park along the fence. Thank you.
- Walk
to School day Oct. 8th.
- There
is a PTO meeting at 6:30 p.m. and a Site Council meeting at 5:30 taking
place on October 9th in the school library.
- Monday,
October 13th is teacher collaboration day and the students will
not be in school. The teachers will be in professional development
meetings.
- Cookie
Dough fundraising is this month. The event ends on October 17th.
- October
21st is our first band and strings concert at 6:30 p.m. Please come and listen to the hard
work that the students have been doing thus far!
- Grand
Parents/Special Friend day is on October 22nd.
- D.A.R.E.
graduation for 5th grade is October 30th at 1:45 in
the school gym.
Congratulations to all the Sechrist School students, parent
and teachers for earning the stateÕs highest achievement label of ÒExcellingÓ.
EveryoneÕs efforts in striving to become the best we can be continues to
benefit us all. Thanks for the good job you all do!
Sincerely,
John Albert, Principal
