Kindergarten Registration

A special welcome to all! Registration for 2008-2009 School Year is underway. Please register! When you register your new Kindergarten student you will also schedule a date for Kindergarten Screening.

Registration is also open for students in all grades who will be new to Sechrist in the Fall. Please register ASAP so registration can be completed prior to the first day of school, August 2008.

Age Requirement:
Your child must be 5 years old on or before August 31, 2008 to enter Kindergarten. Testing for possible early entrance into Kindergarten is available only for children turning 5 during the month of September.

Immunization Record
Birth Certificate

Why register now?
The number of sections of kindergarten is determined by how many students register. This is also true for grades 1st - 6th.

I've heard all incoming kindergartners are tested/screened before school begins. When is the testing?
The testing will be actually be during the first two weeks of school or during the week prior to school beginning. Your child cannot fail this screening. This is the first of four evaluations throughout the school year and is part of the Kindergarten Developmental Assessment or the Kindergarten report card.

Can I register if I live outside the Sechrist boundary?
Sechrist does allow for out of area boundary exceptions as space permits. You will need to fill out an Out of Area Request Form for the boundary exception which is available in the office. Children are placed on a waiting list and are added as space permits. Please register early for your best chance of attending Sechrist School.

**Testing for possible early entrance to Kindergarten is available only for children turning 5 during September. This special placement testing will be done in June.
