Welcome to this website and to seventh grade! I am very excited to be the Alpine 7th grade English Language Arts teacher. We have some great expeditions planned and some awesome books and articles to read together. We will have new textbooks and some novels. It's going to be a fun year!
Materials needed: Composition book and pens or pencils.
Homework for English will be reading at least 60 minutes per week.
For first quarter, students choose their own books to read and then will select from a few novels related to the units read in class.. The goal is to encourage students to read more often and to try reading different genres of books. If students are absent, please check for assignments on our Google Classroom page or on our textbook page My Perspectives
. I also post assignments under assignment resources in StudentVue. This year we will be transitioning to a standards based grading system which will make the gradebook in StudentVue look very different from last year. Please contact me if you have questions about your student's progress. I do accept retakes on most assignments and tutor on Tuesdays till 4:15 so students can catch the late bus.
