Mr. Wade’s Cell Phone Policy
Our primary objective during the school day is to learn the material presented in class. Both the teacher and the student have obligations to fulfill within the classroom environment. They do not include ANY interruption created by any hand-held device, including cell phones. Therefore, any electronic interruption created by a student or outside source during the class day (this includes text messages, phone calls, taking pictures, or any other disturbance) in my classroom will not be tolerated. Students with pertinent emergencies will be able to notify me of such situations and will be able to step outside of class to make such calls. It is the students’ responsibility to notify me of such emergencies or situations where a phone is necessary.
For the first offense, the student will receive a warning. For a second offense, the cell phone will be confiscated by the teacher and turned over to the administration until the end of the school day. Starting with the second offense the student will also forfeit any opportunity for extra credit in my class for that particular school day. If there is a third offense, the cell phone will be confiscated by the teacher and the parent will pick up the electronic device from the administration at the end of the school day. Upon the third offense, the student will forfeit any extra credit opportunity for that school day as well as any future extra credit opportunities for the rest of the academic quarter.
If your child does not own a cell phone, please check the appropriate box.
