Virginia Biggs

Principal Virginia Biggs says hello to an online class.
  • Mrs. Biggs has been an educator for 22 years in Japan, Missouri, Page, Arizona and Flagstaff. She joined Flagstaff Unified School District in 2005 and has served as a principal at Thomas Elementary school since 2018. Prior to serving as a principal, she worked as a teacher and instructional coach at Leupp, Killip, and Kinsey Elementary schools.  Mrs. Biggs’ educational credentials include a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Western Michigan University and Master’s degrees in Early Childhood Education from Northern Arizona University and Educational Leadership from Western Governors University. 

    Mrs. Biggs’ educational areas of expertise and interest include early childhood education, reading instruction, restorative practices and technology integration.   During the 2021-2022 school year, the Thomas Elementary staff and Thomas Online Academy staff will earn their Apple Certification and will apply for Apple Distinguished Schools status.  Mrs. Biggs’ vision for online learning is to provide a quality online learning experience for Flagstaff families that is in sync with the values of our district and our school while working to transform the educational experience.
