Welcome to Puente de Hózhó music!
My name is Mr. Schroeder, and in addition to K-5th grade music, I teach guitar to 4th and 5th grade students after school. In 2017, I will be starting my 9th year teaching at Puente de Hózhó. When I was a 5th grade student living in Kansas, I started playing the trumpet. I continued playing trumpet through high school and college, and eventually performed music in the Phoenix area and on cruise ships for several years before becoming a music teacher. I also enjoy spending time with my wife and our two children on hikes, in our garden, and of course playing music!
At Puente de Hózhó, Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade students have music once a week for thirty minutes, and 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students have music every other week for an hour.
For the fifth year in a row, our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will participate in a collaborative program with the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra and Carnegie Hall called Link Up
. The concert will take place at NAU's Ardrey Auditorium on March 8th, 2018.
4th and 5th grade students have the option to participate in the after school Guitar Club.
