Ms. Eilleen Hayes
Welcome Students, Parents, Grandparents and Guardians to 4th Grade with Ms. Hayes!
It is my pleasure to take this time and introduce myself. I am Eilleen Marie Hayes from Milwaukee, Wisconsin and I love teaching! Yes, I am a Cheesehead. I have one son, Charlie and 6 step children. In 1990 I moved to Flagstaff and pursued an Elementary Education degree at NAU. I graduated Cum Laude and went right to work on the Navajo Reservation in Leupp, Arizona. There I had the opportunity to educate many Navajo and Hopi kiddos in my 22 years as a 2nd through 5th grade teacher. It was a splendid experience, and I was able to hone in on my craft as an educator. The Navajo Nation empowered me with extensive professional development so that I would be excellent at nurturing the minds of their youth. I look forward to doing the same with students of Knoles each year and feel honored to be a part of the FUSD team.
My mission is to assist each student on their learning journey to achieve and believe in their ability to learn and understand. I aim to foster and create a classroom environment where students develop positive characteristics and learn to value accountability, helping and encouraging others, working hard for fulfillment, doing their best, following rules, being unique and treating others with kindness. In this way we can all succeed in a community of harmony and educational rigor. I will implement a system of positive reinforcement and a reward management system where students learn to make sound academic and behavior choices. It's going to be an exciting and awesome year of learning!
I welcome the chance to work with you so that we can build an effective partnership where your child can grow and become the best learner they can be in 4th Grade. Updates and class news will be communicated through a class-wide email. Each child brings a unique learning style to the class, and I will accommodate each child the best I can. Please fill out the paperwork that your child brings home, so that I can get to know your child a little better. We look forward to those who can volunteer in our class. Fourth grade is off to a colorful start.
With Kind Regards,
