I am so excited to be apart of the MEMs family for my second year. I am so excited to be teaching Math 8 class.
A little about me...
I recently moved here to Flag (September 2015) with my Husband. We moved from NM where we did a Teaching Internship through AmeriCorps. I went to Warner University in Florida and moved across the US right out of college. I am excited to be apart of the community here, in Flagstaff.
I love outdoors things: biking, hiking, running, etc. Being physically fit and having a healthy life style are very important to me. I feel that it is important to help students understand the importance of being healthy and fit and how it directly affects your mood and relationships. When your body is happy and healthy, you are happy!! I also love showing students that being fit can be really fun. I am hoping to help students find new hobbies or even improve on their own current hobbies. I am excited to learn new activities with your children and watch them grow emotionally, intellectually, and academically.
Not only am I excited to teach the students new sports and games to help them stay fit, I am also excited to help them understand that what we eat is a HUGE component to being health and fit. I am eager to share with them and help them be aware of the food they eat and how those foods and impacting them.
This is my 4th year teaching and my third year teaching middle school. I taught science (3rd - 8th) in NM and 2nd grade over at Knoles. I did teach 7th grade P.E. last year, here at MEMs however I moved to Math 8 this year.
