Ms. Christine Stoner
Hello Knoles Families!
My name is Christine Stoner and I welcome you all to fifth grade at Knoles School! I bring a variety of elementary classroom experience to my position here as a fifth grade teacher. My journey in the profession of elementary education began when I did my student teaching here at Knoles, in third grade, in the fall of 2010, and then graduated with my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from NAU in December of that year. My son began kindergarten at Knoles the following school year and I took a position as a kindergarten classroom aide at Knoles that same year. Over the course of the next three school years, 2011-2014, I was the Fit Kids health class teacher, P.E. teacher, and long-term substitute teacher in our special education program here at Knoles.
In December of 2015 I decided to go back to NAU for my Master's degree in Special Education Mild/Moderate Disabilities. I continued to substitute teach at Knoles through May 2017 and did my student teaching for my Master's degree at DeMiguel Elementary here in Flagstaff in fifth grade. I graduated with my Master's in December of 2017 and here I am back at Knoles in my second year of teaching fifth grade! I feel like I've come back home!
My husband and I have a 13 year old son who will be in 8th grade this year and he completed kindergarten through fifth grade here at Knoles. As a family we enjoy camping, boating, wildlife, listening to music together, and going on family trips. Flagstaff has been home to me for 30 years now and my husband is a Flagstaff native. I am proud to serve the Flagstaff and Knoles community as an elementary educator and look forward to getting to know and connecting with each child in my classroom and their families!
