Jayson Blaine

My name is Jayson Blaine. I am a former college football player and the oldest of 4 from Glendale Arizona. I am an outdoor enthusiast with a love for music, travel, and time spent with my family and friends. In my free time I enjoy snowboarding, fishing, hunting, boating, and riding my dirt bike. My favorite places include:  Costa Rica, Flagstaff, the beach, and the mountains. I am very happy to be here at Summit, where I believe my life experiences help me relate to our students. This is my second year living and teaching in Flagstaff. I have spent the previous eight years teaching PE and coaching football in South Phoenix where I have developed a physical education program that seems to get better every year.

The goal of Summit High School's Physical Education program is to promote a positive learning experience maximizing student participation in all activies and creating an environment for each student to have the opportunity to be successful. The program focuses on fostering a safe, supportive, and noncompetitive environment whereby personal developement, fitness awareness, and healthy interaction with others are emphasized during all lessons. When your son or daughter is scheduled for P.E., they will be required to wear comfortable, supportive athletic shoes. Sandals and crocs are not permitted. Please note that many shoes such as Vans, Converse, and Uggs do not provide proper ankle and arch support necessary for students to engage in during P.E. If your child has been sent to school with a note to sit out of P.E., in order for them not to miss out on the lesson, they will still be expected to come to P.E., providing they are physically able. They will have an opportunity to be a helper in class. I teach three classes of Physical Education here at Summit. In my classes, students participate in a variety of games, activities, health and fitness related activities, nutrition, weights, and personal health.  I am available before school and most days during my prep period 11:05-12:00pm as well as after school until 2:50 if you should need to contact me.  Email is the best way to reach me as I do not have a phone in my classroom, but calls to the Summit High School front office can reach me as well.
