Hello! My name is Amy Richardson. I teach 6th grade English and Social Studies at Sinagua Middle school.

This is my third year teaching at Sinagua Middle School. Before teaching at SMS I taught elementary school in Flagstaff before transitioning into content area teaching. I am fortunate enough to teach both of my favorite subjects! I have a Masters degree in Education from Northern AZ University, a Bachelors degree in English from NAU, and also an undergraduate degree in Theater/ performing arts. I have many interests and like to incorporate things I have learned over the years into my curriculum. My educational background definitely influences the way in which I teach. I believe learning should be engaging, comprehensive, and fun! I'm an outgoing person and try to make my classes both educational and entertaining! I take a lot of pride in my work, and try to make my classes a place students are excited to attend each day. 

A little about me: I am an AZ Native. I grew up in the White Mountain area. I moved to Flagstaff in 2002 with my husband to attend NAU. We loved the community so much we never left! I have been married to my wonderful husband Chris for 19 years now, and we have two great kids. Our son will be attending FHS for his jr. year, and our daughter attends SMS and is going into the 7th grade. 

A few of my many personal hobbies include: travel (I haven't been everywhere yet- but it's on my list!)

My family enjoys hiking together whenever possible. I personally enjoy writing, reading, photography, movies, pop-culture, and of course spending quality time with my family, friends and our very spoiled dog Dexter! I consider him my third child.
