Hi Tiger Families! Nurse Janet here...
This is my second year as your Leupp School Nurse and I feel blessed to be back working on the reservation again. In my early 20's when I first visited Navajoland, I fell in love with it and felt drawn. I left the east where I was raised and headed west where I have lived ever since. As part of my past nursing career I worked for 5 years across the Navajo, Hopi and Apache reservations at 10 medical locations with 15,000 infants, children and their families, developing the pneumococcal vaccine that is now an important vaccine for children. I believe good learning cannot happen unless children and their families are healthy in mind, body and spirit. I love taking care of the children and helping the parents and staff in whatever way I can to achieve this goal.
Because your health questions don't just happen during our virtual school hours, I can be reached, if not urgent, at my email firstname.lastname@example.org or for more urgent needs on my cell phone 928-380-7557 most any time. Text is ok too. If you do not reach me immediately I will get in touch with you as soon as I can. I am here to be a resource for you.
Check out my blog page. I will be posting things to brighten your day and take you away from it all for a short time, such as virtual travels to enjoy places and animals we othewise might never see, quick tips to help you stay healthy and fun health learning activities for the children.
