I am so excited to be starting my 3rd year at Cromer Elementary School. I have enjoyed getting to know so many of you and look forward to meeting our new families. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and tell you about my work experience and passion for helping families stay happy and healthy.

I was born and raised in Arizona, growing up in Gilbert, Az. In elementary school I had the privilege of volunteering in the Special Education classrooms. Part of this experience included accompanying the students to the Special Olympics. Being such an amazing experience, I believe it is what inspired me to want to work with children.

I graduated Nursing School in 1996 from Yavapai College in Prescott, Az. I was then fortunate enough to work in a Pediatric Outpatient clinic/practice as my first job. I loved being able to help children and get to know their families. I also worked at the Yavapai County Health Department assisting with Immunization and Flu clinics.

My family relocated from Prescott to the Phoenix area in 2004 and that is when I began my career in the school setting. It was the perfect fit. I was fortunate enough to be a school nurse for 5 years before the school closed. During my summers to escape the heat, I was a camp nurse for a coed overnight camp near Lake Tahoe in Northern California for 10 consequtive summers. I was able to bring my children with me and they learned to sail, water ski/board, rope climb, mountain bike, and so many adventures that they still enjoy.

As I missed the school setting, I started work as a substitute nurse for students with special needs. This position soon became a part-time position then a full-time position. I also worked home health during my breaks because I missed my students so much.

With my move to Flagstaff, I am now back in my favorite job setting in my favorite climate. I am looking forward to reuniting with and meeting all of our wonderful Cromer families. Remember, we are all in this together. Stay tuned for health information regarding our changing school enviornment.****Please see Blog for information regarding COVID-19 and Immunization Clinics at CCHHS.****
