Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Issy Hoff

My name is Issy Hoff and I am the new Beacon teacher at Sinagua Middle School. I just recently graduated from NAU in May; I couldn’t bear to leave Flagstaff, especially since it is surrounded by the beautiful mountains and Ponderosa Pines. Although this is my first-year teaching, I am happy to be staying part of the Sinagua Middle School family. In the past I have worked in the Beacon room as a practicum student and student taught in the Life Skills room. My philosophies on teaching are that it should be hands on, build a community of learners, be interactive, and connect to the real world. Throughout the year, students will build up the skills to socially interact with their classmates. Additionally, there will be an emphasis placed on students making the connection between a lesson to its’ daily value in everyday life. Overall, I look forward to getting to know my students as the unique individuals that they are who are full of countless strengths and abilities.
