FUSD appoints three administrators
The Flagstaff Unified School District approved the contracts for three administrators in the upcoming 2019-2020 school year. Patrick Fleming was hired as the Director of Transportation and Lawrence Watson will now serve as the Assistant Principal for Flagstaff High School. Tari Popham will continue to serve as the Sinagua Middle School principal after participating in SmartSchools, a phased retirement program, during the 2018-2019 school year.

Truth in Taxation Hearing Scheduled
In compliance with §15-905.01, Arizona Revised Statutes, Flagstaff Unified School District is notifying its property taxpayers of Flagstaff Unified School District’s intention to raise its primary property taxes over the current level to pay for increased expenditures in those areas where the Governing Board has the authority to increase property taxes for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2019.

FUSD to begin capital projects after issuing $25 million in bonds
"In the coming years, Flagstaff residents could see a lower property tax rate than projected: the bonds fetched an interest rate of 2.13%, compared to the 4-5% used in the projections."
