Marron wins Viola Excellence in Education Award

Marron joins Principal Biggs after winning award. At the annual Viola Awards Ceremony honoring excellence in the arts, Thomas Elementary teacher Kathy Marron was named as the winner of the Excellence in Education Award.  The honor recognizes Marron's work in inciting student passion in projects that range from a school-wide mural to a self portrait project that highlights the faces of all students - using art to collaborate and build a campus community of acceptance.


Fellow members of Team Flagstaff were also recognized as finalist for awards.  Flagstaff High School's Shane Smith and Sechrist Elementary's Faun Nichols were also finalists for Excellence in Education and Kelly Smith was selected as a finalist in Science Education.  Cromer Elementary's Owen Davis was also a Finalist in the Community Impact category.
