Honoring Indigenous Peoples' Day
The Flagstaff Unified School District (FUSD) has recognized and adopted the second Monday of October to be observed as Indigenous Peoples' Day. The Native American Indian Education Program, would like to make the community aware that there will be virtual messages on the FUSD Facebook page and events happening throughout the City of Flagstaff (virtually). When you have the time to view at your leisure, please share with your family and friends as well as with your staff and students.
As of 10/1/2020, FUSD has 2,839 Native American students and 40 different tribes represented. Many are tribes within Arizona, and some come from as far north as Washington and far east as New York.
On behalf of our program we would like to send our prayers and blessings to our community that we serve and will continue to strive at sharing and being a part of the successes of all our 9,000 plus students, academically and culturally.
A'hee'hee, Askwali!
