FUSD Students Win Awards for Navajo Nation Johnson O'Malley Art Contest

This year, five FUSD students won awards for the Navajo Nation Johnson O'Malley Art Contest. K-12 students were prompted to enter painted or drawn art representing the 2023 theme, "Building the Future, Reigniting the Culture and Language." Winners were announced at the 2023 Navajo Nation Johnson O'Malley Annual Conference. The grand prize winner had their art displayed on the front cover of the conference booklet, and all winners had their art displayed at the event. Additionally, the winners received certificates, plaques, and art supplies!
 
Grand Prize Winner: Justine Sloan, 11th Grade, Coconino High School
1st Place Winner: Michelle Billy, 2nd Grade, Puente de Hózhó Elementary School
2nd Place Winner: Joseph Bitsuie, 5th Grade, Cromer Elementary School
Consolation Prizes: Harley Nez, 4th Grade, Kinsey Inquiry & Discovery School & Tommy Nez, 6th Grade, Mount Elden Middle School
