Public Comment Link Available for the Public Hearings for the Social/Sexual Health Curriculum Review

In accordance with District Policy 5-218 and Arizona Administrative Code R7-2-303, notice is hereby given to the members of the Flagstaff Unified School District (FUSD) and the general public that the Flagstaff Unified School District Governing Board will hold Public Hearings for Sexual Health Education Curriculum Review at 5:30 p.m. on April 23, 2024, and June 25, 2024. 

The public hearings are open to the public and will take place at the FUSD Administrative Center located at 3285 E Sparrow Ave, Flagstaff, AZ 86004. Members of the public may attend in-person at the FUSD Administrative Center, as space restrictions allow, and will also have access via live stream.  

Please note: Doors will be opened 30 minutes prior to the start of the meeting. Members of the public will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis until established capacity limits are reached (current capacity is 90 members of the public). Once capacity is reached, no additional members of the public will be admitted.

In accordance with District Policy 5-218 and Arizona Administrative Code R7-2-303, the Flagstaff Unified School District (FUSD) shall make any proposed course of study and curriculum available and accessible for review and public comment for at least sixty (60) days before the Governing Board decides whether to approve that course of study on July 9, 2024.  The course of study and instructional resources may be viewed at the Flagstaff Unified School District Administrative Offices located at 3285 E. Sparrow Ave. from 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (office closes at 4:30 p.m.) from April 23, 2024, to June 25, 2024.  

The Board invites the viewpoints of citizens throughout the District and considers the responsible presentation of these viewpoints vital to the efficient operation of the District. The Board also recognizes its responsibility for the proper governance of the schools and therefore the need to conduct its business in an orderly and efficient manner. The Board has established procedures to receive input from citizens of the District and those procedures are outlined in the Call to the Public Section of the Agenda and will also be available at the meeting.
