#AforAZ Expansion & Innovation Fund Spotlight: Eva Marshall Magnet
Three cheers for the arts! Eva Marshall Magnet in Flagstaff Unified School Dist 1 is a Title 1 school with over 500 students, including 35% Hispanic and 21% American Indian/Alaskan youth.
Home to the Academic High-Altitude Suzuki Violin program that’s had proven results in improved student behavior and enhanced focus, this research-based proposal will ensure music education continues while students are learning remotely this school year.
Eva Marshall Magnet has shared their collection of violins for free with families for home use and is building their own on-demand & synchronous virtual music education instructional model to accommodate these unique times.
This #InnovationFund grant will enable Eva Marshall to upskill their instructors for the online format & expand this free program to more families so that #Flagstaff students can confidently continue their high-quality music education through real-time small group virtual instruction, practice videos, and use their violins while learning remotely. #AforAZ#ArtsEducation
