Important Back to School Announcements

This is Principal Reasor from Marshall Magnet Elementary School with some important back to school announcements.

First, we hope you and your family had a very productive and relaxing summer.  The first day of school is Wednesday, August 9th.  School arrival and dismissal times have been changed!  School now begins at 9:00am daily and ends at 3:30pm Monday- Thursday and early release at 12:45pm every Friday.  Note: Our Kindergarten students dismiss 10 minutes earlier.  Student drop off begins at 8:40am daily.  Students may be dropped off in one of our two drop off zones just west of our front entrance.  We have two crossing guards to assure safety. Guardians may walk students to their classroom on the first day of school and out to the playground on the second day.  We will continue with our Walk Your Student to class every other Friday!  Student pick up will follow the same protocol as last year as well.   You can find a vehicular traffic map on our website for your reference.  Next, all new and returning students must be registered and verified in ParentVue (<---click for instructions).  To complete the 10 min. process, simply login to ParentVue and click the verification/registration tab in the upper right corner of your ParentVue home page. Please make sure you have requested transportation if it applies to you. Once registration verification has been completed you can view your student’s homeroom teacher beneath the class schedule tab. Our school-wide meet and greet is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 8th in morning from 9-10am.  Maps will be provided as you arrive.  iPads: All students must sign a Technology Responsible Use Agreement as part of the online process the $25 iPad fee is no longer required for device protection!Free & Reduced Lunch:  Please fill out this form to see if you qualify for free or reduced meals at Marshall.  http://fusd1.schoollunchapp.com We do not want one family to miss out on this service if you quality.

School Supplies:  For the 6th year in a row, we were able to purchase all of the school supplies your student will need to start strong.  What an incredible endeavor! Setting students and teachers up for success is our goal with this school supply campaign.  We know how much stress this takes off our families.  Our generous Marshall Community Support Organization spent $30 per student to make this happen.  To sustain this program, we are asking each family to pay $30 per student and even consider sponsoring another if you can.  The national average is over $300 per student for back to school supplies.  Please help us continue this service.  Cash, check and credit cards can be processed at our front office and a quick pay option in in the works.

Transportation: For those of you taking advantage of FUSD transportation services communications will be sent out next week confirming your routes and times.  Please contact transportation with your questions at Email: FUSDRoutingSvcs@fusd1.org Phone: Routing Coordinator: (928) 527-2309
