Flagstaff High School selects new head football coach and associate coach

Flagstaff High School (FHS) is excited to announce the hiring of Sean Manning as the Varsity Head Football Coach and Kevin Aguas as the Associate Head Coach.

“Thank you for the opportunity to serve as the FHS Eagles football coach,” shared Coach Sean Manning.  “I live by the code of leaving my community better than how I entered it and look forward to sharing this same mindset towards coaching student athletes.”

Manning has coached student athletes for the past 18 years in high school and youth football programs in the Flagstaff area while serving in the military and as a police sergeant at Northern Arizona University.  His experience includes serving as the freshman defensive coordinator, junior varsity defensive and special teams coordinator, junior varsity head coach, and varsity defensive coordinator for the FHS Eagles.  His coaching style is founded on the pillars of trust, team first, character, and core values - all principles that will be brought to his team building approach with the FHS Eagles.

“Flagstaff High School is excited about Coach Manning’s plan for the football program,” shared Flagstaff High School Athletic Director Jeannine Brandel.

Kevin Aguas will also be joining the Flagstaff High School Varsity Football program as an associate head coach and has worked with Coach Manning in area football programs.  More information regarding the assignment of specific duties will be shared at a later date.

Flagstaff High School looks forward to formally introducing the duo to the community in upcoming months in anticipation of the 2021 season.   The hiring of both individuals will be considered by the FUSD Governing Board at the March 30, 2021 meeting.
