Competitive Chess Club K-5

The Puente de Hozho Chess Club meets every Friday from 12:00 - 1:45. The club is made of Kindergarteners through Fifth-Grader. The Puente Chess Club is recognized for its award winning performances across the state.  PDH chess club is currently the reigning Arizona Sate Champions at 1st and 3rd-grade.  We offer challenging competitive chess for our team members that allows them to grow at their own rate and ability. Problem solving and rational thinking is developed at all levels through the study of the game of chess.

Chess Club K-2

To add to our current chess programming, we are starting a K-2 Chess Club on Tuesday and Thursday. This club will learn how chess pieces move, beginning strategy, and working into playing a whole game.  Creative thought, problem solving, cause and effect, and developing focus will all be developed in a fun atmosphere around the game of chess.  Possible competitive tournament play, typically reserved for our K-5 program, may be offered as well.  This club be capped at 20 students.
