Literacy Center volunteers are partnering with Thomas students to raise reading achievement and engagement through the "Raising Readers" program.
Thomas students, with the help and guidance of The Mural Mice and art teacher, Kathy Marron, have designed a mural to represent the spirit of Thomas Elementary School.
Our annual food drive is well underway at Thomas Elementary School. All donated goods will support The People's Pantry located at 2529 E 7th Ave where community members may shop, without cost, for food for themselves and their families. We will be collecting donations until Tuesday, December 17th. Please consider donating today! Thank you.
Flagstaff USD is introducing a new communications tool called Anonymous Alerts® to allow students or parents to easily report urgent information to school officials anonymously across all of our school campuses when students return to school following the Thanksgiving Break. The system encourages students, parents and community to confidentially report bullying, cyber-bullying, and other sensitive topics to our administration.
Thomas Kindergarten teacher, Sarah Hendricks, was awarded the distinct honor of Teacher of the Month by KAFF Radio. Mrs. Hendricks was nominated for this honor by a family who has partnered with her for 3 of their children's
Thomas 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Laurie Jeffers, was recently honored as the NAZToday Teacher of the Week. Mrs. Jeffers' innovative use of technology, collaborative nature, and classroom dynamics were highlighted. We are grateful for her experience and knowledge and the work she does every day to benefit the students and learning community of Thomas Elementary School.

We are proud of Jack Nichols and greatly appreciative of his coordinated efforts to give back to Thomas Elementary through his Eagle Scout project. He is a remarkable young man with great initiative, planning skills, and character.
At the annual Viola Awards Ceremony honoring excellence in the arts, Thomas art teacher Kathy Marron was named as the winner of the Excellence in Education Award. The honor recognizes Ms. Marron's work in
Mrs. Pamela Cain, Thomas special educational paraprofessional, earned the recognition as the Educator of the Year from the Flagstaff Disability Awareness Commission.
