With the Governing Board adoption of the school year budget, the Flagstaff Unified School District has an average salary of all teachers employed in FY 2020 of $50,560. As a comparison, the average salary of all teachers employed in FY 2019 was $48,639, an increase in average teacher salaries from the previous year of $1,921 or a percentage increase of 4%.
Thomas Elementary School teachers and staff were surprised with a pancake breakfast served by Superintendent Michael Penca, Assistant Superintendent Mary K. Walton, Assistant Superintendent Bob Kuhn, and District Chef Sky Atwood for having the highest participation in the district for the annual United Way campaign!
Taking its own approach to community STEM events, Killip Elementary School held its inaugural “We Love STEM!” Night on Thursday, which drew in a crowd of students and families.

On Monday, February 10th, 2020, approximately 160 students from Mount Elden Middle School visited Kinsey Elementary and DeMiguel Elementary to promote literacy and community. The middle school students read to K-5 classes, practiced literacy skills, and built relationships with the younger students!
