Alliance for the Second Century
Alliance for the Second Century includes representatives from FUSD, Northern Arizona University, Coconino County, City of Flagstaff, Coconino Community College, and Mountain Line. Topics discussed include: enrollment updates, assessed valuation, legislative updates, and election outlooks. The Alliance typically meets once every other month from 7:30 – 9:00 am.

Anti-Racisim and Anti-Bias Committee
The purpose of the Anti-Racism and Anti-Bias Advisory Committee shall be to provide feedback and recommendations to the Governing Board for projects associated with Anti-Racism and Anti-Bias. An Anti-Racism and Anti-Bias Task Force was formed by the Board in August 2020 to examine issues related to bias, racism, and inequity in the District and to make recommendations about these issues to the Board. The Task Force was intentionally developed to center a diverse set of community perspectives, and to leverage inclusive community dialogue about equity concerns within the District. The Task Force identified four priority domain areas in the objectives. These domains were: (1) FUSD staff diversity, (2) professional learning for FUSD staff, (3) curriculum, and (4) student behavior and social-emotional learning.

Bond Oversight Committee
The Bond Oversight Committee is made up of local Flagstaff-area residents, members of the FUSD Governing Board, and staff. Each member lends their expertise to the decision making process as the committee meets to approve and review the funding and progress of various projects and consider additional District needs. Their mission is to oversee the activities of the current FUSD Bond and its administration, which includes approving or denying all projects and the oversight of the bond budget. The Bond Oversight Committee usually meets once a month, on a Tuesday morning from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.

Climate Action Committee
The FUSD Governing Board recommended that a temporary climate action ad hoc committee be formed to prepare recommendations to the Governing Board regarding climate action goals by June 2022. The committee was made up of staff, students, parents, and community members who met monthly. The committee explored the strategies of REDUCE, LEARN, and ENGAGE to organize the ways the Flagstaff Unified School District can become an active partner with the City of Flagstaff and other agencies to respond to this climate emergency and strive towards carbon neutrality by 2030.

FUSD Self Insured Trust (FSIT)
The purpose of this Trust is to provide for the establishment of a self-insured program and/or insurance programs by the District to cover Employee medical, dental, disability and/or life insurance programs, and uninsured losses, claims, defense costs and other related expenses as the District may elect to self-insure from time to time, and to authorize the management, funding and administration of the Trust for the purpose herein, including without limitation the payment of insurance premiums. The FUSD Self Insured Trust meets at least semi-annually and meetings are typically held from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.
