Learning transcends the classroom on multi-day wilderness expeditions, ranging from Grand Canyon backpacking, to Oak Creek cleanups, and N. AZ conservation trips. These expeditions incorporate outdoor recreation with place-based learning and service projects, providing youth with not only adventure but with the opportunity to connect to nature and their communities in meaningful ways. Trips combine recreation, outdoor skill building, stewardship and valuable hands-on learning experiences, in addition to good views, good food and good company.
As students are challenged physically, they are rewarded with self-confidence and pride in their accomplishments. As students work together and participate in service projects, they develop a sense of responsibility and stewardship towards our natural environment. Through tax donations and local restaurants hosting us for fundraising, we are able to offer these opportunities to students at little or no cost.
