• Dear Knoles Families:

My name is Pete Galvan and I am the new Principal of Knoles Elementary School. I am honored and excited to be part of the Knoles community. I moved to Flagstaff in June of 2013. I am a graduate of Penn State University and completed my Bachelors in Mathematical Sciences. I was a math teacher for eight years at both the high school and middle school level. I have a Master of Education in Education Administration from Grand Canyon University. I have been in administration for thirteen years at both the middle school and elementary school level.  I am married and have 6 wonderful children, two of them have attended Knoles and my youngest will be in kindergarten this year! As a family, we have made a home in Flagstaff and enjoy hiking, fishing, and all that it has to offer.

I have spent most of the summer meeting with staff members to gain a clear understanding of Knoles Elementary School. I wanted to learn first-hand all of the amazing things that are happening in our school community. I am impressed with the dedication and focus of our staff to ensure success for your student. Their excitement and passion for education and the upcoming school year was evident in every conversation I have had.  I am extremely proud of our highly qualified and committed staff that I am working with for your student.

Together we can make this a great experience for your child. We love volunteers and would enjoy seeing you get involved in the many exciting things we will be doing this year. There are many ways for you to get started: help with your child’s homework and projects, join our PTO, attend school events and conferences, volunteer in the classroom, library and on field trips.

Our first event of the school year is our Knoles New Family Night on Wednesday, August 3 at 6:00pm. This is a chance to meet key staff, learn school protocols, get some tips for success and tour the school. You can meet your child’s teacher on Wednesday, August 10 from 1 to 3. Our first day of school is Thursday, August 11. Another important date is our open house Wednesday, September 14. This is an opportunity to come check out our campus and see all we have to offer at Knoles.

I look forward to partnering with you and working toward your child having a successful school year.  It is important that we communicate often to ensure this success. Please feel free to call or email me with any questions or concerns. Thank you in advance for your support!

    Most Sincerely,

     Pete Galvan
