Welcome to The Puente de Hóhzó (PdH) Language Academy at Sinagua Middle School

The PdH Language Academy offers students a unique opportunity to become bilingual and bicultural in either Spanish or Diné.  Students gain knowledge and an appreciation of the history and culture of the language that they study.  Students in the Spanish program take language classes such as Language and Culture and Spanish Immersion as well as content-area classes in math and science in Spanish.  Students in the Diné program immerse themselves in language and culture classes.  Both programs provide challenging linguistic environments that aim toward bilingualism, while upholding the values of diversity and international mindedness. Students from both language programs come together and take Language and Literature in English to learn from one another and further the mission of "bridging" the cultures and languages of the Southwest.
