Cedar Ave and West Street Asphalt Paving Operations

Dear FUSD Families,

The City of Flagstaff has announced that asphalt paving operations will take place along sections of Cedar Avenue and West Street the week of October 27. This work may temporarily affect travel routes near Coconino High School, Mount Elden Middle School, Puente de Hózhó Elementary School, and Killip Elementary School.

Crews will be repaving half of the roadway at a time while maintaining one lane of traffic in each direction. Access to side streets and driveways may be temporarily restricted during paving operations, but the City has indicated that access will be restored as soon as conditions allow.

During this time, families can expect:

  • Reduced speeds and travel delays

  • Traffic control devices and lane shifts

  • Temporary access restrictions

  • Construction equipment and loud noise in the area

Work is expected to occur Monday through Saturday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., weather permitting.

This project is part of ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and reduce post-wildfire flooding impacts in the area. The City of Flagstaff appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation during this important work.
