About FUSD Home
Flagstaff Unified School District (FUSD) has a long history of offering a well-rounded and rigorous educational experience for all students. FUSD is home to over 8,600 students and 15 comprehensive school sites, in addition to Northern Arizona Distance Learning. FUSD works to implement best practices and innovative education techniques to meet the needs of students in northern Arizona.
Students discover their path at our 15 school sites, which includes three elementary magnet schools, four middle school academies and four high school academies. Students can also take advantage of Advanced Placement, Technology and Engineering, Expeditionary/Place Based Education, and Modern Language while high school students have opportunities to take high school dual-enrollment classes for college credit, career and technical education, music, fine art, drama, foreign language and online courses. Middle school students enjoy a variety of elective classes, clubs, sports and tutoring support. For elementary students, FUSD offers before and after-school programs, multi-age classroom opportunities, artists in residence, as well as intervention and enrichment opportunities for every student.
With high expectations, FUSD employs teachers, counselors, librarians, bus drivers, administrators, and support staff to ensure students can focus on their education. Working together, FUSD is proud that students consistently score above state and national averages on standardized achievement tests and the dropout rates are lower than the state average.
Community support is vital that takes place across the district every day. FUSD is grateful for the continuing support of Team FUSD, our community partners, families, and students. Flagstaff is a special place because of the ongoing community support.

- Growth Mindset
The Flagstaff Unified School District provides all students with a high-quality education through diverse pathways to foster success in college, career, citizenship, and life. The Profile of a Learner has been formulated with students, parents, school, and community input through the Growth and Inspiration Council during the 2018-2019 FUSD Academic Year. Aligned with the FUSD Strategic Plan, the Profile is aimed at demonstrating clear skills of every FUSD learner.
By developing critical skills and competencies, FUSD learners can be successful lifelong learners and contribute in a rapidly changing and complex world. The attributes of critical thinking, communication, empathy, initiative, and resilience allow graduates to be global citizens - learners who are appreciative of various points of view while using information effectively to positively impact their communities and world.
