Developmental Preschool Programs
FUSD Developmental Preschool programs are set up to serve a majority of students with special needs, focusing on readiness skills such as social-emotional skills, adaptive skills, and cognitive skills to be ready for learning at school. A few students who attend the program are typically developing and pay monthly tuition.

Inclusion Preschool Programs
FUSD Inclusion Preschool programs are set up to serve a majority of students who are typically developing, focusing on readiness and academic skills to prepare students for kindergarten, while supporting a smaller number of students who have special education needs. A majority of the students who attend the program are typically developing and pay monthly tuition.

*Please note that the school boundaries for preschools are different from the boundaries for students enrolled in grades K-12.

The preschools operate part-day sections which (mostly) follow the FUSD school calendar. Classes are held Monday through Thursday, with no school on Fridays. Class sizes change throughout the school year. However, all classrooms have 1 certified teacher and 2 classified paraprofessionals.
For the 2025-2026 school year, the class times will be changed to align with the start and end times for Elementary Schools.
Morning Class (3-4-year-old students): 7:50 a.m. to 10:35 a.m.
Afternoon Class (4-5-year-old students): 11:35 a.m. to 2:20 p.m.
Students must turn 3 on or before August 31st for the 3-year-old program in the morning. Students must turn 4 on or before August 31st for the 4-year-old program in the afternoon. The preschool program tuition is $250 per month unless a family qualifies for a reduced price based on their income. Students who qualify for special education services will not be charged tuition.
To have your child considered for enrollment, please add their information to FUSD's centralized preschool waitlist. Any registration made through ParentVUE without the preschool coordinator's approval will be denied. La lista de espera centralizada para preescolar.
Students with special needs and qualify for school-based special education services will be placed in a preschool program with support from the preschool evaluation team. If you have concerns about your child's development, you can get more information about the preschool evaluation office here.
