The Flagstaff Unified School District has a Public Records Request Portal (NextRequest) that allows individuals to submit a request, communicate with District staff, and track requests online. The portal also allows users to search for previously submitted and published public records requests and documents.
Please visit the portal here to search for available records or submit a new request.
Any writing containing information relating to the conduct of the District or the performance of any governmental or proprietary function prepared, owned, used, or retained by the District, regardless of physical form or characteristics.
(NOTE: Student records such as transcripts, medical records, etc., are not public records. If you are a parent/guardian or former student looking for these records, please complete and submit an Authorization for Release of Pupil Records Form by visiting https://www.fusd1.org/domain/1818.)
A. No Charge for Inspecting or Locating Public Records. The District will not charge for locating a public record or for making records available for inspection or copying. (This does not apply to requests for commercial use).
B. Costs for Providing Copies of Records (for records other than those meant for commercial use).
C. Fee Schedule:
The above charges may be combined to the extent that more than one (1) type of charge applies to copies produced in response to a particular request. The requestor may ask for a summary of applicable charges before any copies are made.
D. Method of Payment. Payment by cash, check or money order may be made at Accounts Payable located at the District office in the Business Office.
E. Waiver of Copying Costs; Alternative Fee Arrangements. The Public Information Officer may elect to waive the fees for a request for purposes of administrative convenience or based on other reasonable grounds. Additionally, the District may agree to an alternative fee arrangement with a requestor.
The length of time it takes to fulfill a public records request depends on the type and amount of records requested, the time it takes to receive the records from the applicable parties, and the length of the queue of requests. All public records requests will be completed in chronological order. If a request is large in volume, records may be provided in installments over time.
