Intro to Culinary Arts CT 19A/B

This course is an entry-level culinary class, providing basic principles in food preparation. Students will learn to plan and prepare a variety of foods, along with basic kitchen skills. Intro to Culinary is a prerequisite for all other culinary classes.
Culinary Arts I (with Dual Enrollment option) CT21A/B

Intro to Culinary is a prerequisite for this class. This course provides hands on training for students that are interested in a career in the food service industry. Students will obtain a Food Handler’s card from the Coconino County Health Department and simulate foodservice careers through events held at the Panther Café, a licensed restaurant and bakery. Students plan and prepare all food items that are sold using industry guidelines. They are also responsible for selling and serving food at the food sales window.

Culinary Arts I is a prerequisite for this class. This class is a continuation of skills learned in Culinary Arts I. Second year students work as kitchen managers in planning, overseeing, and preparing meals for the Panther Café and food sales window.
