With the Governing Board adoption of the school year budget, the Flagstaff Unified School District has an average salary of all teachers employed in FY 2021 of $52,855. As a comparison, the average salary of all teachers employed in FY 2020 was $50,560, an increase in average teacher salaries from the previous year of $2,295 or a percentage increase of 4.54%.

At a remote award ceremony on May 8, 2021, the Coconino High School “CocoNuts'' Robotics Team received several awards for their robot design and continuing positive impact on the community. The CocoNuts were honored with the Autonomous Award, Dean’s List Finalist Award, and Southwestern Region Chairman’s Award. The CocoNuts will have a remote interview in June to compete for the Championship Chairman’s Award, the highest honor a team can receive in FIRST.
According to Board Policy (I-5800 IJJ), materials recommended by the materials adoption committee will be placed on public display for 60 days prior to the board meeting at which the Governing Board will consider the adoption as per the committee’s final recommendation.

Marks, a single parent raising two teenage sons, has coordinated deliveries of food and supplies to Navajo and Hopi families struggling during the pandemic; advocated for voting rights in the face of efforts to disenfranchise Native Americans; worked to provide access to remote learning opportunities in tribal areas made even more isolated by COVID-19; and served as a personal counselor and resource to students struggling with loss and depression.
