What is preschool special education?
Preschool special education services include special strategies to help children ages three to five years reach developmental milestones. These may include related services such as speech therapy, physical therapy, or assistive technology. Preschool services are provided in a preschool group or classroom setting at no cost to the parent.
What if I have concerns about my preschooler?
If you have concerns about your child's development, you may contact FUSD's Preschool Evaluation Team. Just call our Preschool Team at (928) 773-4148, and a staff member will return your call as quickly as possible.
What happens next?
Our Preschool Evaluation Team will use a screening tool to check your child's development or performance in the areas that affect development and learning in school:
- Vision and hearing
- Motor control or coordination
- Behavior or social skills
- Speech or language skills
- Thinking or performing tasks
- Adaptive behavior
